Norma Britton 1930-2020

Norma I. Rumold Britton, 90, Holton, formerly of Soldier, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

She was born May 27, 1930, in Council Grove, the daughter of Clarence and Katie Skinner Rumold. She graduated from Topeka High School.

Mrs. Britton and her husband were foster parents for more than 32 years.

She was a member of Soldier Christian Church, American Ex-Prisoner of War (AXPOW) and Topeka VFW Post 1650.

She married Robert Lee Britton on Aug. 1, 1948, in Topeka. He died Oct. 5, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a foster daughter, Julie Hyten, and a sister, Opal Mae Rumold. 

Survivors include a foster daughter, Shirley Smith, Soldier; a brother, Lloyd Rumold and wife Mary Jo, Topeka; and a sister, Carol Smith, Circleville. 

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Soldier Cemetery.
