Naomi Flett 1925-2018
Naomi Marguerite Jennings Flett, 92, Rossville, formerly of Holton, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Rossville Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Hiawatha, the daughter of Delbert F. and Grace M. Solomon Gibbs. She had lived in the Holton community since 2003 and previously lived in Delphos for 32 years.
Mrs. Flett was a homemaker and had also worked for Sunflower Creamery in Everest, Gay-Gibson Garments in Horton, Wilde Tool Plant and Justice Manufacturing in Hiawatha and El Dorado Campers in Minneapolis.
She was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and a former member of Delphos United Methodist Church. She was also a member of United Methodist Women at Delphos UMC and a lifetime member of Delphos American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 and Delphos VFW Auxiliary Post 3035.
She married Milton Jennings on Jan. 11, 1945. They divorced. She married Stanley D. Flett on Sept. 8, 1972, in Belleville. He died July 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian F. Myers and Mary Burnett; and four brothers, Marvin Gibbs, Robert Gibbs, Harry Gibbs and Joseph Gibbs.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel D. Jennings and wife Susan, Topeka, and Joseph M. Jennings and wife Rosalind, Lawrence; a daughter, Grace Ellen Heir and husband T, Maple Hill; a sister, Rebecca Spaight, Hiawatha; two brothers, Delbert F. Gibbs Jr., Hiawatha, and Jerry D. Gibbs, Lenexa; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 16 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Family will greet friends following the memorial service. Inurnment will be held in Hall Cemetery in Delphos at a later date.
