Nancy Martin 1962-2021

Nancy Rene Martin, 59, Holton, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born Nov. 6, 1962, in Topeka, the daughter of Gerald Lee and Veronica Mary Kadese (Shoptese) Martin. She graduated from Holton High School in 1980.

Ms. Martin worked at various restaurants as a waitress and bartender. Most recently she was a home health live-in attendant.

During her younger and school age years, she attended St. Dominic Catholic Church. She was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

She married Rick Cochran. He preceded her in death, as did her parents.

Survivors include a son, Dakota “Cody” Cochran, Netawaka; a granddaughter, Arianna Cochran; a brother, Mark Martin, Holton; three nephews, Derek, David and Daniel Martin; and a niece, Stacie Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Shipshee Cemetery.
