Mona Wilson 1930-2018

Mona E. Wilson, 87, of Holton, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

She was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Muscotah, the daughter of Sherman and Carrie (Liggett) Wiley.

Mona graduated from ACCHS in 1949. She worked at Coopers Drug Store, Shields Jewelry and Westside Sundry’s (retiring in 1992), all in Holton. She also was an Avon Rep resentative for eight years. She was a member of Netawaka United Methodist Church. She was also a member of O.E.S. 184, Zenith Chap ter in Hiawatha.

Mona married Duane E. Wilson on Dec. 3, 1950, in Holton. He pre ceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2011.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Wilson (Brenda) of Holton, Keith Wilson (Rosanna) of Circleville and Daryl Wilson (Della Wrightsman) of Netawaka; a sister, Reta Cooper of Olathe; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Netawaka Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
