Milford Gibson 1939-2017

Milford “John” Gibson, Na Whe Hen, passed away on June 11, 2017 to be with his beloved wife, Sharon.

Thoreau said, “The man is the richest whose pleasures are the cheapest.”

Milford required only family or friends to be truly happy.

He was always willing to help or just listen as he did the past month in staying with a dying friend.

Milford will be truly missed. However, his smile and love will live on in all who loved him.

He was born May 29, 1939 on the Six Nations Onondaga Clear Sky Reservation in Canada, of the Turtle Clan, the son of Simeon and Lena Silversmith Gibson.

Milford was a roofing, siding and painting contractor.

He married Sharon Levier in 1963. She died Nov. 29, 2015.

Milford was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include four children: Theodore Gibson and Robert Gibson, both of Topeka; and Lena Gibson and Simion Gibson, both of the home; and many nieces and nephews.
