Micheala "Mickie" Abel 1945-2016
Micheala Jean “Mickie” Abel, 70, Holton, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1945, in Holton, the daughter of Milton and Irma Higley Haag. She graduated from Holton High School in 1964.
Mrs. Abel worked for Trail Lane Kennel near Soldier for several years and also worked for Walmart in Holton for 25 years.
She was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and the Circleville Saddle Club.
She married Allen Abel on March 28, 1964, in Holton. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Teralee Sue Abel, Holton, Melinda “Jo” Cordell and husband Larry, Havensville, and Alane Diane Bloom and husband Jim, Goff; a son, Allen Dean Abel and wife Jessica, Holton; two sisters, Venita Fiedler and husband Dan, Holton, and Rhetta “Sue” Wheeler and husband Wayne, Circleville; a sister-in-law, Dixie Haag; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gale Haag.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mrs. Abel will lie in state at the funeral home, where family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Private family interment will be held in Circleville Cemetery.
