Michael Lee Christian 1957-2016
I’ve never been one for tradition, so I would like to use this to thank those who have given me such a wonderful life. I have had 59 years on this Earth, I had the perfect wife, three children I could not be more proud of and friends and family that filled our home with so much love. I grew up and lived most of my life in Topeka and passed with my family surrounding me on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. I’m now with my Mom and Dad (Katherine and Leonard Christian).
Even though I left quite suddenly, I consider myself the luckiest man in the world, because I found a woman who loves me like you do, Jeanette. Those 31 years were the best years of my life. We were given three boys and were able to help them grow into fine young men. Watching our sons find women who love them like you love me made me so proud. It’s what any father would want. Being a papa with you, Nana, for Zac and Kellan filled me with more joy than you and the boys could ever know.
Jordan, Jason and Justin, my sons, the most any father can ask for is to see his sons grow into fine men. You will forever be my greatest source of pride and truly the best things I leave on this Earth. Watching you grow up while guiding you and simultaneously learning from you was the privilege of my life, and something for which I’ll always be eternally grateful. I may be gone now, but I will always be watching over you and love you with all my heart.
I worked for Westar for many years and served as the COO for 1CapApp. I think of my colleagues at Westar and the 1CapApp team as family. You all have been a major part of my life and you all know I came back from retirement to help. Well, I’m back on retirement now and I’ll be looking over all of you for years to come.
My message to everyone reading: Life is short and can change quickly. Family is the most important thing in life. Always give to others, because the way we live on is in the hearts we touch.
A parish rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12 at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 N.W. 46th St., Topeka, KS 66614, with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
I’ve never liked flowers because they don’t last. In lieu of flowers, please donate to something that will last. I have always loved the Topeka Rescue Mission, Wounded Warrior Project or the Hearing Loss Association of America.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.kevinbrennanfamily.com
