Michael Jim Sr. 1963-2018

Michael Floyd Jim Sr., 55, Mayetta, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka after a brief illness.

He was born May 19, 1963, in Holton, the son of Paulino (Sr.) and Cornelia Harrison Jim. He graduated from Royal Valley High School and later from Haskell Indian Nations University with an associate degree in electronics and computer technology before attending The University of Kansas.

Mr. Jim worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was a member of the Washoe Tribe and a descendent of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and Winnebago Tribe.

He married Christina Thomas in Riverside, Calif. They divorced.

Survivors include his mother, Cornelia Donahue, Hiawatha; a son, Michael Jim Jr., Lawrence; two sisters, Cecily Wabaunsee, Mayetta, and Mary Tiscareno, Topeka; five brothers, Paulino “Sonny” Jim Jr., in Arizona, William “Bill” Jim, Tom Jim and Philip Jim, all of Mayetta, and Ron Jim of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Paulino Jim Sr.

Dinner and wake services will be held Thursday evening, Nov. 29 at Nozhackum Hall, 8362 158th Rd., Mayetta. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Danceground Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
