Mary Dugan 1938-2015

 

Mary Anna Dugan, 77, Soldier, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

She was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Lakin, the daughter of George Thomas and Ida Winona Beaty McKinney. She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1955 and attended Kansas State University for two years.

Mrs. Dugan worked in accounting for KSU for several years and for Kansas Corporation Commission for 18 years. She was also a farmwife for most of her life.

She was a past member of Syracuse United Methodist Church. She was involved in 4-H and Job’s Daughters.

She married Richard E. Dugan on April 17, 1961, in Miami, Okla. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Wendy Edwards and husband Louis, Netawaka, and Barbara Polson and husband Thad, Nortonville; two sons, Richard Dugan and wife Michele, St. George, and Kenneth Dugan, Corinth, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Matthew, Sara, Kyle, Heather, Gavin, Spencer, Grant, Kennedy and Nicholas; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Lily, Gage and London. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julia May Dugan; an infant son, Michael A. Dugan; her parents; a sister, Etna Morgan; and a brother, Darrell McKinney.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
