Marjorie Hundley 1932-2021

Marjorie Rose Hundley, 88, of Holton, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

She was born Sept. 25, 1932, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Frank S. and Anna M. (Schoeneck) Dowd.

Marjorie graduated from Lafayette High School in 1950. Marjorie lived in Holton for more than 60 years and had previously lived in St. Joseph. She worked at Mode-O-Day as a clerk and also worked at the Jackson County Association for Retarded Children.

Marjorie was a member of Holton First United Methodist Church, Grad Menniger Bible Study, the Ruth Circle at First United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 3417, Cub Scout (Den Mother) and also did work with the Girl Scouts. 

She married Duane L. Hundley on April 2, 1955, at First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Franklyn Dowd; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. 

Survivors include two sons, Randy Hundley (Kristie) and Lawrence Hundley (Marsha), both of Holton; and two daughters, Rosanna Wilson (Keith) and Laura Ladusch, both of Circleville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow the memorial service at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
