Marjorie Durham 1925-2020

Marjorie B. Durham, born June 2, 1925, in Hartford, Conn., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, in Schertz, Texas.

“Marge” was married to Robert “Bob” Durham on Sept. 21, 1945. They were blessed with five children: John Durham and wife Jan, Cibolo, Texas, Kathy Vacek and husband Mike, Cibolo, Texas, Linda Wood and husband Jeff, Topeka, Patty Jones and husband Kevin, Topeka, and Rick Durham and wife Pattie, Wichita; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Marge was proceeded in death by her father, Roland Fales Becker; her mother, Christina Clark Becker; and her husband, Robert (Bob) Durham.

Marge was a past member of Hoyt UMC and Choir and a Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Den Mother and a 4-H Leader for square dancing, choir and sewing. She was a member of the Hoyt Women’s Study Club. She was also a member of Schertz UMC and Choir.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the Hoyt Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hoyt UMC.
