Marie Beasterfield 1946-2019

Marie E. Beasterfield, 73, Hoyt, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at her home.

She was born Nov. 21, 1946 in Manhattan, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Luebbe Blakley. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1965 and had lived in Hoyt since 1971.

Mrs. Beasterfield worked at Josten’s in Topeka from 1973 to 2008.

She married Larry Beasterfield on Oct. 12, 1968, at Holton. He died Feb. 13, 2003. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Donna Duncan and Judy Blakley.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Beasterfield and wife Paula, Mayetta, and Travis Duncan and wife Lisa, Topeka; two sisters, Shirley Petersen and husband Duane, Perry, and Betty Mayer and husband James, Bentonville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Kayla and Trevor Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Beasterfield will lie in state after 9 a.m. Monday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where a visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation and inurnment will be held later in the Mayetta Cemetery.
