Margie Baird 1940-2021

Margie Ann Baird, 80, of Rossville, formerly of Silver Lake, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at Rossville Health and Rehab.

She was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Topeka, the daughter of Edward and Marcella (Hanna) Fitzgerald.

Margie graduated from Mayetta High School in 1958. She was a secretary for the Silver Lake School system and she was a member of Mother Teresa Catholic Church in Topeka.

Margie married Billy J. Baird on Dec. 22, 1967, in Denver, Colo. He preceded her in death in May 2011. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Baird and his wife Kim of Evergreen, Colo., and Matt Kiene and his wife Teresa of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Sadler and her husband Ron of Silver Lake.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
