Linda Allen 1948-2022

Linda F. Allen, 73, of Hillsboro, formerly of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

She was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Arville Derwood and Estelline H. (Fine) Brandon. 

Linda earned her G.E.D. at Allen Community College in 2000. 

She worked as a CNA for Manor Care and Aldersgate Village, both in Topeka. She was a charter member of North Rock Baptist Temple in Topeka.

Linda married Harold E. Allen on Jan. 31, 1974, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2015, after 41 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Arville and Estelline Brandon; sister, Doris Lee Brandon; and by her first loving husband, Frank Michael “Mike” Genoble.

Survivors include four children, Tammy L. Aguilar (John) of Gypsum, Timothy L. Genoble (Cinnamon) of Iola, Michelle L. Eitel of Topeka and Nichole H. Allen of Topeka; two brothers, Bobby L. Brandon of Missouri and Kenneth W. “Tex” Brandon of Texas; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one on the way. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
