Lillian Zimmerman 1933-2023

Lillian M. Zimmerman, age 89, of Sabetha, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha. 

Lillian was born on Oct. 1, 1933, in Sabetha, to Lloyd and Caroline (Watts) Bien. She grew up in Sabetha and graduated from Sabetha High School. On March 17, 1950, Lillian married Dale Lloyd Zimmerman. Dale preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1995. 

Lillian worked for Roberts Construction, Farmers State Bank, Berwick Oil Company and the Sabetha Herald, all located in Sabetha. Then she worked for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association at Kansas State University in Manhattan. She also served on the Dairy Herd Improvement Association board of directors. 

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; her sister, Florence Jenkins; and her brother, Lloyd Bien.

Lillian is survived by her son, Arthur Zimmerman, of Topeka; her four grandchildren, Becky, Jenny, Justin and Karrie; her seven great-grandchildren; and her six great-great-grandchildren. 

Lillian’s wishes were to donate her body to the Kansas University Body Donation Research Department in Kansas City, Mo. Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha is assisting the family with arrangements. No services for Lillian are planned at this time.
