Lilah Lamphear 1937-2016
Lilah Kaye Lamphear, 78, Whiting, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at her home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Horton, the daughter of Fredrick and Ruby Keyes Lamphear. She graduated from Horton High School in 1955 and attended business school in Topeka. She was a lifelong resident of Atchison and Jackson counties.
Miss Lamphear worked at the Horton National Bank and then for the Selective Service Office in the Courthouse in Hiawatha.
She was a Christian and attended Whiting Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Charles (Kay) Lamphear and wife Kay, Lincoln, Neb.; a nephew, Douglas Lamphear; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, where family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Wheatland Cemetery southwest of Horton.
