Lavena Winfough 1930-2020

Lavena A. Winfough, 89, of Havensville, died Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia.

She was born April 11, 1930, in Beaver County, Okla., the daughter of Fred and Bea Willis Millikan. She graduated from Beaver High School in 1947.

Mrs. Winfough started working at the Havensville Post Office as a clerk in the early 1970s and retired as postmaster around 1990.

She was a member of Havensville Christian Church, the Havensville American Legion Auxiliary and the Havensville Historical Society.

She married Otis “Ot” Winfough on Oct. 27, 1948, in Beaver County, Okla. He died April 25, 2005. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Dedra Winfough; a grandson, Nathaniel Linck; five brothers, Nevin Millikan, Lyle Millikan, Fred Millikan, Jerry Millikan and Steve Millikan; and four sisters, Pat Huddleston, Rosemary Holloway, Jean Cordell and Irma Foster.

Survivors include two sons, David Winfough and wife Velva, Emporia, and Delvin Winfough and wife Nancy, Lawrence; a daughter, Thelma Linck and husband Barry, Havensville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13 at Havensville Christian Church. Burial will follow in Havensville Cemetery. Mrs. Winfough will lie in state after 9 a.m. Thursday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, where family and friends will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
