Larry Hladky 1960-2020

Larry Dale Hladky, 59, Holton, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at Holton Community Hospital as a result of a vehicle accident.

He was born July 9, 1960, in Onaga, the son of Bailey E. Hladky and Rose M. Moore. He graduated from Holton High School in 1978 and attended Kaw Valley Vo-Tech.

Mr. Hladky worked at Bud’s Tire in Holton and then owned and operated Larry’s Tire Service for several years. He also worked for J-6 Pig Farm in Corning and was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the Holton Jaycees Club and was a volunteer firefighter for the Mayetta Fire Department.

He married Pamela S. Jackson. They divorced. He married Shawna R. Pence on Oct. 22, 2016, in Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include his parents, Bailey “Boots” and Rose Hladky, Soldier; a son, Larry Michael Hladky and wife Rochelle, Lawrence; a daughter, Brandy N. Davidson, Topeka; four sisters, Lisa L. Allen, Soldier, Esther K. Essary, Holton, Sherri A. Immenschuh and husband Larry, Soldier, and Jada L. Nicklay, Muskogee, Okla.; a brother, Roy J. Hladky and wife Gertrud, in Germany; four stepchildren, Joe Russell, Holton, Amy L. Russell, Lincoln, Neb., Kristina Chaney and husband Matt, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Lisa Russell, Holton; and 10 grandchildren.

Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Olive Hill Cemetery.
