Kathryn Carlyle 1930-2015
Kathryn Rose Carlyle, 85, rural Hoyt, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at the Pines in Holton.
She was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Toluca, Ill., the daughter of Frederick and Rosella Gordon Edgington.
Mrs. Carlyle was a homemaker. She and her husband lived in Oskaloosa for several years before moving to their rural Hoyt home, where they lived for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Northern Hills Baptist Church.
She married Thomas B. Carlyle on July 19, 1947. He died Aug. 7, 2015.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Carlyle, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Drenon Carlyle, Medford, Ore.; a sister, Ella Lou Shapley, in Texas; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14 in Half-Day Cemetery north of Topeka.
