Karla Grau 1955-2015
Karla Grau, 59, Mayetta, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at her home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Holton, the daughter of Elmer John and Ada Marie Boyce Winters. She graduated from Holton High School and later Topeka Barber School, then obtained her associates degree from Topeka Technical College.
Mrs. Grau was a barber, a supervisor for the Kansas Department of Revenue and a tax auditor and she also owned and operated Karla's Barber and Style Shop.
She married James Alan Grau on June 15, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nev. He died Oct. 3, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Shane Grau and wife Angie, Topeka; a daughter, Shelby Grau and husband Brett James, Tecumseh; a sister, Denise Streit, Holton; a brother, Butch Winters, Topeka; and three granddaughters, Mara and Lorelai Grau-James and Charlotte Grau.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
