Kaelyn Mason 1948-2016
Kaelyn (Wagoner) Mason passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, in Port Angeles, Wash., with her caregiver, brother-in-law Nathan, by her side.
She was born July 9, 1948, in Hillsboro, to Keith and Evelyn Wagoner. She grew up in Holton and was a member of the graduating class of 1966.
She married Ron Mason, her soulmate, best friend and the love of her life, on Feb. 14, 1994. They spent their entire life together as a management team in many jobs for storage companies. In 1998, they decided to follow their dream and became full-time RV’ers, an adventure where they saw many beautiful places and met many new lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, in December 2015; and her parents, Keith Wagoner in 2001 and Evelyn Wagoner in 2016.
She is survived by her sister Sherry (Nathan) Wabaunsee, Port Angeles, Wash.; cousin Royce (Nancy) Lemke, Keithville, La.; four stepsons, Eric (Lisa) Mason, Hugoton, Ed (Debbie) Mason, Elizabeth, Colo., Darrin (Becky) Mason, Tehachapi, Calif., and Dennis (Valerie) Mason, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and sister-in-law Shirley (Charles) Herring, Kinston, N.C. She so enjoyed her many stepgrandchildren. The visits from her granddaughters, Sharaya (Kyle) and Paige (Patric), were the sunshine in her last couple of weeks of her life.
At her request no services are planned. She will be cremated and her ashes will be joined with Ron’s for their next adventure together.
Some of her last thoughts were of the great friends and neighbors in Holton and she will be eternally grateful for all their support and help during her last weeks. Holton Hospice provided such wonderful care during the last weeks of her life, and she requests that any memorials be sent to Hospice.
