Julie Stevenson 1943-2016
Julianne “Julie” (Daley) Stevenson, 73, of Parsons, passed away at 9:28 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1943 in Parsons, to George E. Daley Sr. and Therese (Holland) Daley. As a young girl, she grew up in Parsons, where she attended school and graduated in 1961 from St. Patrick’s High School.
She and Donald Edward Hicks were married June 16, 1962 in Parsons. Following marriage, they lived in Pittsburg and in Holton. They later divorced. In 1976, she moved to Parsons, where she worked at Superior School Supply for eight years and later owned and operated a daycare.
On Aug. 11, 1979, she and Charles Irving “Charley” Stevenson were married. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2008.
She enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking. Julie also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, John Hicks and his wife Tiffany, Parsons; two daughters, Terri Jacobson and companion Scott Hedrick, Lawrence, and Laura Cruse, Parsons; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, William J. Daley and his wife Judy, Fort Worth, Texas, and John Daley and his wife Heidi, Parsons.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Julianne “Annie” Hicks, on March 27, 2016; and a brother, George E. “Ged” Daley Jr., on Feb. 2, 2004.
Private graveside services will be held by the family under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
