John Curran 1925-2016

 

John F. Curran, 91, Holton, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at St. Fran­cis Hospital in Topeka.

He was born May 31, 1925, in Delia, the son of John C. and Bettie Adams Curran. He graduated from Denison High School and was a lifelong member of the Holton community.

Mr. Curran served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Forbes Supply Depot in the shipping and receiving depart­ment, retiring in 1974.

Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews, Connie Renfro and hus­band Dale, Mike Curran and wife Geneva, Martha Dreitzler and hus­band Don, Cyndy Degand and hus­band Jim, Teresa Curran, Tracy Curran, Karen Beightel and hus­band Gordon, Tom Buehler, Rick Buehler and Lisa Buehler; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Jane Buehler; and a brother, William R. Curran.

Funeral service were held Mon­day morning at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with mili­tary honors followed in Olive Branch Cemetery at Rossville.
