Jerry Smith 1965-2019

Jerry Ray Smith, 54, Topeka, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019.

He was born March 20, 1965, in Horton, the son of Daryl and Nadine Smith. He grew up on the family farm in Whiting and graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1983.

Mr. Smith was a farmer and worked as a ranch hand in Wyoming and Kansas.

Survivors include a daughter, Lacy Smith, Whiting; a son, Rob Snavely and wife Gretchen, Holton; his father, Daryl Smith, Whiting; a sister, Sheryl Callison and husband Mark, Holton; three brothers, Terry Smith and wife Gena, Whiting, Garry Smith and wife Kerri, Soldier, and Perry Smith and wife Sarah, Wetmore; and a granddaughter, Lyla Leona LaMastus. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nadine Smith.

A celebration of life will be conducted by Mr. Smith’s family at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Whiting Gymnasium in Whiting.
