Jeffrey Youngbear 1985-2022

Jeffrey Scott Youngbear, 37, Mayetta, died Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Topeka with family by his side.

He was born Feb. 1, 1985, in Topeka, the son of Henry R. Alex and Carla Yvonne Youngbear. He graduated from Penn Foster in 2012 and from Washburn Tech.

Mr. Youngbear was a heavy equipment operator for construction companies. 

He was a member of the Native Religion and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Ledgee L. Youngbear, of the home; his mother, Carla Youngbear, Mayetta; five children, Skyla Youngbear, Lily Youngbear and Dasan Youngbear, all in Oklahoma, and Stone Smith and Redman Youngbear, both of Topeka; two stepdaughters, Rainin Carreno and Blaze Griffith, both of Topeka; a brother, Seanbear Youngbear, Mayetta; grandmotherss; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 5 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at the funeral home.
