Janene Morris 1955-2014

 

Janene Ellen Morris, 59, Holton, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

She was born July 28, 1955, in Holton, the daughter of Forrest Eugene and Berniece Lorene Trim­ble Morris. She was a lifelong member of the Holton community.

Miss Morris was involved in Special Olympics, participating in discus, shot put, softball and track.

Survivors include two sisters, Georgene A. Wilhelm and husband Ken, Mayetta, and Debra Y. Korte and husband Raymond, Holton; four brothers, Stephen F. Morris and wife Laurita, Holton, Merle G. Morris, Wichita, Harold F. Morris and wife Judy, Holton, and Dennis E. Morris and wife Tym, Topeka; six nephews; seven nieces; five great-nephews; and seven great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Berniece L. Morris, on Feb. 18, 1977; and her father, Forrest E. Morris, on May 17, 2014.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holton Cemetery, with Miss Morris’ uncle, Dale Nichols, officiating. Family and friends will meet one hour prior to service time at Mercer Fu­neral Home in Holton to go in pro­cession to the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
