James Hawley 1929-2016

 

James Roland Hawley, 87, Wetmore, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Goff, the son of Archie James and Grace Mae Porter Hawley. He graduated from Wetmore High School in 1947. He had been a member of the Wetmore commu­nity since 1945.

Mr. Hawley owned and operated McDaniel/Hawley Motors in Wetmore for more than 45 years.

He was a member of Wetmore Li­ons Club.

He married Nell L. McDaniel on April 14, 1948, in Wetmore. She died April 17, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Rus­sell G. Hawley and wife D.J., Wetmore; a daughter, Violet Hintzman and husband David, Menomonie, Wisc.; a grandson, Dana Bahnsen, Mil­waukee, Wisc.; a sister, Joyce Roush and husband Marvin, Topeka; and a brother, Lloyd “Punk” Hawley, Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mer­cer Funeral Home in Holton. Fam­ily will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Wetmore Cemetery.
