Jacquelyn Shea 1939-2020

Jacquelyn Ann Shea, 81, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.

She was born Jan. 4, 1939, in Paxico, the daughter of Melvin and Beulah Vern (Schumaker) Shutter.

Jacquelyn graduated from Topeka High School in 1957 and completed dental hygienist school. In her early years, she worked for Southwestern Bell and Montgomery Ward. After schooling, she was a dental hygienist for Dr. Melkus, Dr. Scott Beelman and Dr. Hargrave, all of Topeka.

She married Larry Michael Shea on Nov. 20, 1965, in Rossville. He preceded her in death.

Jacquelyn also was preceded in death by her parents and her stepdad, Alonzo “Junie” Sauls.

Survivors include her daughter, TeriAnn Shea Moneymaker (Heath Delany) of Circleville; a sister, Karen Spica of St. Charles, Mich.; a brother, Tim Sauls of Topeka; a granddaughter, Ashlea Nelson (Jason) of Circleville; a stepgranddaughter, Taelor Belshe (Henry) of Valley Falls; and three great-grandchildren, Tryston, Macyn and Paisley.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 8 in Holton Cemetery. Jacquelyn will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton beginning Wednesday, May 6.

Memorials may be given to the Jacquelyn Shea Memorial Fund (to be designated at a later date to help with autism research).
