Jackie Levier 1976-2022

Jacquelyn Sue “Jackie” “Wamigokwe” “Maheo noh” Levier, 46, Mayetta, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.

She born Jan. 29, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the daughter of Joseph Grant and Rosanna Whiteskunk Jessepe. She graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1994 and attended Kaw Valley Vo-Tech in Topeka.

Mrs. Levier was a homemaker.

She was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and Native American Church.

She married John Henry Levier on March 17, 2008, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother, Rosanna Jessepe and husband Ron, Mayetta; her stepmother, Mary Jessepe, Mayetta; four children, Sydney Jessepe, Mayetta, Sylvana Levier-Jessepe, Tama, Iowa, and Ivan Levier and Alyssa Levier, both of Mayetta; three sisters, Jodi Jessepe, Mayetta, Leslie Marshno, Topeka, and Rose Charisse Warrior, Mayetta; a brother, Andrew Ortega, Topeka; and two grandchildren, Frankie Jessepe and Delena Kitchkommie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Jessepe.

A dinner and rosary will be held Thursday evening in Sister Therese Klepac Hall at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church west of Mayetta. Private family Native American services will be held Friday. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shipshee Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
