Herbert D. Prince II 1944-2020

Herbert D. Prince II, 75, Goff, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1944, in El Cajon, Calif., the son of Herbert D. Prince I and Lillian Clapsaddle Prince. He graduated from high school in Guanite Hills High School in 1962 and attended San Diego State University.

Mr. Prince served in the U.S. Navy as an aerial photographer during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1968 and was a prisoner of war during his service. He lived in Goff for 10 years and had also lived for more than 20 years in Colorado, where he worked for Concert Concepts, setting up concert stages for James Brown, Highway 101, Charlie Daniels, Chris LeDoux and others. He later worked as a traffic controller for the CDOT.

He married Kathleen Alice Armintrout on Oct. 3, 2002, in Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Wesley Prince, San Antonio, Texas, and Ryan Prince, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Melody Prince, Las Vegas, Nev., and Jonette Armintrout and husband Brett Kiefer, Goff; 12 grandchildren, Troy and Trent Prince, Dylan, Nathan and Ethan Prince, Cory Albritton, Jayden Prince, Skylar and Megan Hakala and Dacota, Nicholas and Kayden Kiefer; a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Kiefer; a sister, Dora Hayword, Hays; and a brother, Glen Prince, Duncan, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jennifer Prince; and a sister, Pat Prince.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
