Harold Blunt 1936-2022
Harold William “Bill” Blunt, 85, of Holton, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Stormont-Vail in Topeka.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1936, in Falls City, Neb., the son of Harold Guy and Helen Ruth (Klumb) Blunt.
He attended first thru fifth grade in Reserve and completed the rest of his schooling in Whiting, where he graduated in May 1955. He proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1955 until 1958.
He worked at Goodyear for 31 years, retiring in 1997. Bill enjoyed farming and raising Polled Hereford cattle in his retirement years. He was a member of the Larkinburg Christian Church, Local 307 Rubber Workers, and the 16-75 Square Dance Club.
On June 9, 1960, he married Sally Sue Stephenson in Muscotah. They celebrated more than 61 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Sally, of the home; three daughters, Terrie Divine (Duke) of St. George’s Grenada, West Indies, Pamela Dodson (Jim) of Holton and Vicki Harlin (Dave) of Delia; three stepgrandchildren, Darion, Kristin and Kasie; and a great-granddaughter, Kassidi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Blunt; and two brothers, Robert and Carl Blunt.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13 at Holton Cemetery.
