Glenn Rogers 1940-2016

 

Glenn LaReux Rogers, 76, passed away April 7, 2016, at his home in Lawrence.

He was born April 6, 1940, in Emporia the son of Merlin LaReux and Ivolue (Farmer) Rogers. He attended Potwin Elementary, Roo­sevelt Junior High School and graduated from Topeka High School in 1958.

Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his retirement he was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and repairing things for his sister.

He married Norma Humphrey and to this union a daughter, Connie Jo was born. The couple later divorced. He then married Judy MacDonald and they had two daughters, Joel Ann and Shannon Lee. Glenn and Judy divorced. He married Barbara Simmons. She survives of the home.

Glenn is also survived by his daughters, Connie Barela, Joel Ann Overesch (Blair) and Shannon Lee Hey; seven grandsons, Devin, Josh and Chris Barela, Griffin and Car­ter Hey and Max and Jack Over­esch; a granddaughter, Auriel Barela; two great-grandchildren, Deijah and Madilyn Barela; and his sister, Marilyn (Rogers) Andrews of Holton.

No services were held. Memori­als may be given to the Topeka High School Historical Society and sent to 800 W. 10th St., Topeka, KS 66612.
