Geri Dyche 1951-2016
Geradette “Geri” Murray Dyche, 64, Hoyt, formerly of Topeka, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
She was born Nov. 14, 1951, in Visalia, Calif., the daughter of John and Ezaura Sylvia Vierra. She graduated from Tulare Union High School in Tulare, Calif., in 1969 and attended Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif.
Mrs. Dyche worked for Adams Business Forms in Topeka and later built and managed her own business, eBiz Software, for several years. She and her husband made their home in St. Joseph, Mo., until recently moving to the Hoyt area.
She was a former member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka and a lector at the church. While living in St. Joseph, Mo., she attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In Topeka she was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, the Catholic Singles Group, Beginning Experience and the Topeka Chamber of Commerce.
She married Steve Dyche on Oct. 11, 2003, in Clinton, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Bryan Murray and fiancee Casey Cole, Fort Collins, Colo.; a stepson, Steven Dyche and wife Cathie, St. Clair, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Lynn Bowser and husband, Peter, New Haven, Conn.; a brother, Gene Vierra and wife Marcia, Arroyo Grande, Calif.; a sister, Cynthia Shaffer and husband Reed, Tulare, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandmother, Agnes Sylvia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Hoyt. Mrs. Dyche will lie in state today at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m.
