Georgia Ross 1940-2021

Georgia Arlene Ross, 81, Mountain View, Calif., died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 at her home.

She was born April 23, 1940, in Mayetta, the daughter of Samuel Joseph and Florence L. Wahwassuck Ross. She graduated from Haskell High School and attended two years of college at Haskell.

Miss Ross was a clerk for Santa Clara County Human Resources. She was a descendant of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and Peoria Tribe.

Survivors include a daughter, Luci Kumagai, Mountain View, Calif.; two sons, Ralph Castro and wife Rosa and Michael Castro, both of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Roberta K. Castro, Spokane, Wash., and Julia B. Ross, San Jose, Calif.; three brothers, Sam J. Ross, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Russell Ross, San Jose, Calif., and Norman D. Ross, Mayetta; five grandchildren, Angelica, Little Ralphie, Joseph, Jason and Kayli; and two twin great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Evan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Florence Ross; her sister, Dixie L. (Ross) Bross; and her brothers, Jimmy L. Ross and Theodore D. Butler.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Danceground Cemetery west of Mayetta. Miss Ross will lie in state until 6 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
