Gary Brown 1960-2018

Gary D. Brown passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 23, 2018, in Mesa, Ariz., at the age of 57.

He was born Oct. 21, 1960, in Topeka, to Aaron Brown Jr. and June Hallauer Brown.

Gary is survived by his wife, Tracy, and his children, Ashley and Matthew. Also surviving are his mother, June Schlodder; sister Kathleen (Lalo) Ramirez; brothers Darrell (Margy) Brown and Russell (Carol) Brown; and numerous family members and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Brown; an infant sister; stepfather Floyd Schlodder; and grandparents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 29 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Mesa, Ariz. Interment will be held at a later date.

Gary attended school for a while in Holton but graduated from Horton High School in 1979.

Gary was an independent insurance agent and sold real estate for many years.

Gary was a published author of a Christian book entitled “Walking The Narrow Path With Christ,” which tells of his faith and his numerous encounters with the homeless and less fortunate. He never knew a stranger and got much enjoyment listening to others tell their stories. He was a compassionate and loving person and will be missed by many people he helped on his journey through life.
