Frank Quimby 1970-2016

 

Raymond Franklin “Frank” Quimby Jr., 46, Mayetta, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

He was born April 7, 1970, in Fairfax, Mo., the son of Raymond F. “Ray” Quimby Sr. and Patricia Ann Gardner Quimby. He gradu­ated from Royal Valley High School in 1988 and received his as­sociate’s degree from ITT Tech in Topeka. He was a lifelong member of the Hoyt and Mayetta communi­ties.

Mr. Quimby worked for Yellow Freight for more than 13 years as a computer technician.

He married Shelly McClane. They divorced.

Survivors include his father, Ray Quimby, Tarkio, Mo.; a son, Dalton Quimby, Hoyt; a sister, Barb Shields and husband Cory, Holton; two granddaughters, Ava RayAnn and Lila Ray Quimby; three nephews, Zachery, Joshua and Nathan Shields; a great-nephew, Wyatt Shields; and nu­merous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Quimby, on May 31, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Fu­neral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery southeast of Holton. Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frank Quimby Memo­rial Fund, to be designated at a later date and sent in care of Mercer Fu­neral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
