Frank Morris 1937-2020

Frank Henry Morris, 83, Holton, died Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born April 22, 1937, in Oregon, Mo., the son of Clarance Marion and Lillian Ina Breckinridge Morris. He attended school in Oregon, Mo.

Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist’s mate during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked for Langlois Flour Company in California and also as a truck driver for Von’s Grocery, also in California. He owned and operated his own truck for many years, transporting general freight. 

He was a member of Lakeview Faith Chapel in Holton and a former member of Holton VFW Post 1367.

He married Jeanette A. DeMann on Jan. 4, 1959, in Rosemead, Calif. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2016. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Meyer, Esther Culp and Lois Herpich; and five brothers, Floyd, James and Lewis Morris and George and Richard Drake. 

Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Moore and husband Tom, Kansas City; and a grandson, Thomas Anthony Moore. 

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 5 in Holton Cemetery. A register book will be available at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
