Francis M. Pace 1924-2015

 

Francis M. Pace, 90, Girard, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Westridge Assisted Living Center in Girard.

He was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Horton, the son of Ezekiel and Helen Starr Pace. He graduated from high school in Effingham and had lived in Horton, Arrington, Larkinburg and Mayetta.

Mr. Pace worked for Goodyear in Topeka from 1959 to 1979. He then moved to Hepler, where he farmed before moving to Westridge.

He was a member of the South­east Kansas Poultry Club.

Survivors include two sons, John Koppa, Mayetta, and George Koppa and wife Marsha, Fort Scott; two daughters, Rebecca Eigenman, Topeka, and Judy Kruse and hus­band Chet, Hepler; a brother, Bill Pace and wife Mary, Holton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchil­dren; and five great-great-grand­children.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating. Burial followed in He­pler Cemetery.
