Eva Loftus 1943-2022

Eva Loftus 1943-2022

Eva M. (Swecker) Loftus, 78, of Holton, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital with her daughter by her side.

She was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Topeka, the daughter of Leonard and Maxine Swecker.

Eva was employed by Jostens Yearbook and ran the cover department for more than 22 years.

She married Matthew B. Loftus on Aug. 11, 1963. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Bert) Loftus, and a grandson, Jerrad Lee Matthew Loftus, all of Topeka.

She loved the Lord and her family. “My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26. She loved life and people and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of life beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Cypress Glen Apartments Commons Room, 605 Wisconsin Ave., Holton. Her Topeka friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at the Shawnee Lake Arboretum, located on the west side of the park road across from the Ensley Gardens south of 37th Street. Parking is available off 37th and Howey and friends are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

In closing, I will end with one of mom’s favorite quotes, “It is what it is!” Love always, Julie.
