Eva Bolz 1942-2018

Eva May Bolz, 76, Topeka, formerly of Meriden, died Sunday Oct. 14, 2018, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born April 27, 1942, northwest of Meriden, the daughter of Johnnie and Glena May Martin Bolz. She graduated from Point Pleasant Country School and later Hoyt High School in 1961.

Miss Bolz grew up on the family farm and cared for neighborhood children at their home while in high school. She had worked at several businesses in Topeka, including Hall’s Lithography, American Yearbook, American Bindery, Southwest Publishing, Wolfe’s Printing, Western Bindery, Standard Heart and Adam’s Business Forms. She had also worked at the Topeka Police Department.

Survivors include five nieces, Mildred Jo Arreola and husband Vicente, Jamie Monroe and Nickie Camargo and husband Eustacio, all of Topeka, Rita Manker, Wakarusa, and Sharon Dinnell, in California; three nephews, Dr. Tim Bolz, Topeka, Rick Bolz, Denison, and Ronald Bolz, Lyndon; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred Holiday, on Jan. 13, 1974; and two brothers, Glen and Fred Bolz.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery northwest of Meriden. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
