Ernest Woltje 1924-2015

 

Ernest Lynn Woltje, 60, Circle­ville, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1954, in Meade, the son of Lemuel and Wanda Cox Woltje. He graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1972 and had lived in Jackson County communities for 58 years.

Mr. Woltje was a welder for BMB and a supervisor for Alamo, both in Holton. He later was part­ners with his son Matt at EZ Flow Irrigations as an installer and also his son Chris at E&C Renovations and Additions as a carpenter.

He married Connie Rae Cattrell on July 3, 1974, in Soldier. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Christopher L. Woltje and wife Joni, Netawaka, and Matthew D. Woltje and wife Mary, Topeka; four grandchildren, Jesse, Adam, Jordan and Kati Woltje; two step­grandchildren, Mason and Bailey Hamilton; two sisters, Sandra McAlexander, Topeka, and Pau­letta Persell, Herington; and three brothers, Ivan Woltje, Salina, Charles Woltje, Topeka, and Lanny Woltje, Holton.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Fu­neral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Soldier Cemetery.
