Eldon Mzhickteno 1956-2016
Eldon LaRue “Panaw” Mzhickteno, 59, Topeka, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born Aug. 5, 1956, in Wichita, the son of Joseph LaRue and Corrine Koshiway Mzhickteno. He attended Lawrence High School and later graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Topeka.
Mr. Mzhickteno worked in construction as a roofer.
He was a member of the Drum Religion and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
He married Catherine Koslover. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles E. Mzhickteno, Topeka; a sister, Deborah Mzhickteno, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Donald E. Mzhickteno and Joseph J. Mzhickteno, both of Lawrence; and an uncle, Richard Mzhickteno, Topeka.
Drum services will be held Friday at the Danceground Building west of Mayetta. Burial will be held Saturday afternoon in Shipshee Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
