Eileen Boyd 1930-2022
Eileen Ellen Boyd, 91, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Capetown Assisted Living.
She was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Topeka, to Billy and Sciota Lindsey Isaacs.
Eileen graduated from Mayetta High School in Mayetta. She attended Howard Payne College and Southwest Baptist College before taking time to raise her family. Eileen returned to Southeast Missouri State University, graduating in 1970 with her B.S. in elementary education.
Eileen taught at Meridian Elementary in Mounds, Ill., for 21 years. Her love of teaching and her love of missions led her to continue teaching in America Samoa, Kazakhstan and Suriname.
She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. Over the years she was involved in Sunday School, VBS, WMU, Deaf Ministry, Christian Clowning and numerous mission trips.
She is survived by her twin sister, Nadine Fowler of Port Angeles, Wash.; son Charles (Sylvia) Boyd of Traskwood, Ark.; daughter, Linda (Steve) Meadows of Nixa, Mo.; son, Scott Boyd of Mansfield, Mo.; daughter Martha (Brad) Golden of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; grandchildren Sarah (Paul) LeClercq, Rebekah (David) Prince, Timothy Boyd, Jonathan (Renee) Boyd, Rachel (Mikey) Dailey, Kyle (Shaelyne) Meadows, Carrie (Justin) Cain and Benjamin Golden; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Hazel Pike; brother Raymond Isaacs; and brother Robert Isaacs.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Missions through Lynwood Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 26 at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Burial followed in Lorimier Cemetery.
