Edna Hittle 1942-2019

Edna “Mae” Hittle, 77, Holton, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at her home. 

She was born April 4, 1942, in Holton, the daughter of Raymond F. and Edna F. Albin Swindale. She graduated from Circleville High School.

Mrs. Hittle worked for Denison State Bank for more than 30 years, the last few years as a bank officer. 

She married Gary Lyle Hittle on July 1, 1960, in Holton. He died Nov. 22, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Duane Swindale, in 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Brent Hittle and wife Marlene, Harveyville, and Kent Hittle and wife Jody, Milford; a daughter, Rita Dowd and husband John, Topeka; three brothers, Melvin Swindale, Security, Colo., Leonard Swindale, Holton, and Darryl Swindale, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Goff.
