Dr. Wesley Clark 1947-2018

Dr. Wesley Robert Clark, 71, Sevierville, Tenn., formerly of Holton, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Fletcher, N.C.

He was born Jan. 1, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of William Henry and Muriel E. Rabourn Clark. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1965. He attended Washburn University and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., with his doctorate in optometry.

Dr. Clark served as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War. He also served in the U.S Air National Guard as an air refueler. He owned and operated Dr. Wesley Clark, OD in Holton, from 1980 until his retirement in December of 2008.

He was a member of Holton Rotary Club and Holton Lions Club and volunteered for many medical missions.

Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Lowe, and a granddaughter, Ashlyn Lowe, both of Fletcher, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Muriel Clark.

A celebration of Dr. Clark’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
