Dorothy Thompson-Graves 1959-2018

Dorothy Marie “Dotty” Thompson-Graves, 59, Topeka, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1959, in Hannibal, Mo., the daughter of John and Dorothy Elizabeth Burrows Winston. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1977 and had lived most of her life in Topeka.

Mrs. Thompson-Graves worked in construction building hotels, homes and office buildings. Most recently she was a banquet server at Capitol Plaza Hotel.

She was a member of North Topeka Baptist Church.

She married Douglas Dale Graves on March 24, 2004, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother, Dorothy Rice, Cannon City, Colo.; a daughter, Angel M. Robinson, Topeka; a son, Michael Scott Hill, Ferguson, Mo.; two sisters, Marvina “Jane” Browell, Cannon City, Colo., and Donna Walch and husband Steve, Belton, Mo.; a brother, John Winston, Crockett, Texas; and two granddaughters, Rachel A. Robinson and Destiny Rae Hayes. She was preceded in death by her father, John Winston; and a sister, Sue Jones.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
