Doris Law-Urish 1921-2016
Doris Law-Urish, 95, Leawood, formerly of Green Valley, Ariz., died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.
She was born Aug. 9, 1921 in Potter.
Doris married Lester Law on Dec. 7, 1941. He died in 1966. She later married Harold Urish on Jan. 11, 1975. In 1976, they moved to Green Valley, Ariz., where they lived for more than 30 years.
Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Adams; brothers, Leo Blankenship and Irvin Blankenship; and husband, Harold Urish. She is survived by three sons, Gary (Beverly) Law, Larry (Lois) Law and Glen (Tami) Law; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Schott; a brother, Tom Blankenship; and stepdaughters, Carol, Joyce, Janet, Renee and families.
Doris owned and operated a Beauty Salon in Holton for 10 years. She enjoyed quilting, making quilts for every member of the family and was a member of the Valley Quilters Guild.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 1500 Meadowlake Pkwy. #200, Kansas City, MO 64114.
