Dona Trostle 1931-2021

Dona Faye Trostle, 90, Soldier, formerly of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at Sabetha Manor.

She was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Cleveland, Okla., the daughter of Elza and Gladys Lee Shields. She graduated from Leon High School in 1949.

Mrs. Trostle was a housewife and homemaker.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Haverhill.

She married Robert Alvin Trostle on Feb. 25, 1954, in Weisbaden, Germany. He died July 23, 2020. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Sherwood; two sisters, Betty Evans and Patty Burris; and three brothers, Ronald, Larry and Reggie Shields.

Survivors include her three children, Robert A. Trostle Jr. and wife Michele, Outing, Minn., Pamela Holland and husband Jeffrey, Pottsboro, Texas, and Lisa Uhl and husband George, Soldier; two sisters, Connie Lee, Hutchinson, and Linda Sheave, Newton; a brother, Kent Shields, Cleburne, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
