Dixie Alsept 1934-2017

Dixie Joan Alsept, 82, Holton, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Mayetta, the daughter of Cecil Lloyd and Gertrude Evangeline Scheidegger Wells. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1952 and from Kaw Area Vo-Tech, earning her LPN degree.

Mrs. Alsept was an LPN for Merry Manor Nursing Home in Holton for many years. She also worked as a nurse at other care facilities.

She married Jack Riggles. They divorced. She later married George Meggison. They divorced. She married Henry Clay Alsept on Jan. 2, 1994. He died March 13, 2009. She also was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Evan Prochnow.

Survivors include three sons, Kyle J. Riggles and wife Julie and Cory C. Riggles and wife Tina, all of Mayetta, and Craig M. Riggles and wife Christine, Topeka; a daughter, Kristi G. Miller and husband Clint, Mayetta; a sister, Rita Darlene Rawlings, Mayetta; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
