Dick Wolfe 1937-2017
Richard “Dick” Lee Wolfe, 80, Topeka, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2017, in Topeka.
He was born May 16, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Martin H. and Marjorie Fry Wolfe. He graduated from Meriden High School.
Mr. Wolfe spent nine years in the military, first in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955, then in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958 and in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He later worked for the Topeka Country Club as a greenskeeper, for Washburn University as chief of groundskeeping services, for Kaw Valley Produce Company, for Capital City Inc. as a truck driver and for Payless Distribution Center.
Survivors include two sisters, Yuvonne Wolfe, Meriden, and Karen D. Millenbruch, Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lois Bolz, Joyce Meredith and Donna Butrick.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Netawaka Cemetery, with Dr. Jim McCollough officiating. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home of Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
